Originally trained in video production and digital project management, Darius spent his first professional chapter as a documentary camera operator and post-producer.

A part-time shift from media contracting to construction contracting became a full-time shift that led a the founding of Utopias Cascadia with his wife and best friend, Andie.

Darius enjoys his free time racing street luge, consuming sci-fi, riding his motorcycle, and exploring as much of the world as he can.

Owner, Administrator

Coming from a career in grocery with a focus in produce supply chain and management, Andie harnesses years of corporate experience to navigate and manage the business behind the scenes.

She leads the backend operations and handles many finishing touches with her artisan eye.

Andie enjoys her free time exploring the fiber crafts and historical dress, with a not-so-secret passion for Dungeons & Dragons.

Field Lead

Axel is a rising project manager and trusted on-site lead, relied on for his steady presence, clear communication, and deep sense of accountability in the field. With a foundation in production framing, he brings strong structural instincts and hands-on experience to every build.

He plays a key role in keeping projects moving smoothly—coordinating trades, managing materials, and maintaining jobsite standards from start to finish.

When he’s not building with the team, Axel can usually be found outside or working on the restoration of a vintage boat.

Squad Leader

Jackson is the one we count on when it’s time to get things done. As our go-to for rough carpentry, he brings strength, speed, and a sharp eye to the structural backbone of each project.

With a no-nonsense work ethic and a steady hand, Jackson keeps the pace with the core build team on site, ensuring framing, foundational, and other carpentry tasks are done right the first time. His energy and drive make him a cornerstone of our crew.

Lee is adept at tackling the unique plumbing challenges of the Pacific Northwest, known for his innovative solutions and sustainable practices. Outside of work, Lee is an enthusiastic snowmobile rider, claiming he never feels the cold. His adventurous spirit translates into a fearless approach to plumbing challenges.

Nico is our choice electrician whose work is defined by precision, adaptability, and a deep understanding of electrical systems from the inside out. Before moving to the U.S., he trained and worked as an electrical engineer—a skillset that continues to inform his thoughtful, approach on every job.

Faced with the reality that his engineering credentials weren’t recognized by American institutions, Nico turned to the trades with the same dedication he brought to his previous career. Since then, he’s built a reputation as a sharp, methodical electrician who thrives in both residential and commercial environments. Whether it’s running clean service upgrades or troubleshooting complex wiring systems in 100 year old homes, Nico brings a rare mix of field intuition and engineering logic.
